AMSYS GmbH & Co. KG, April 2026 – Highly accurate pressure sensors today work almost exclusively with digital interfaces such as I²C or SPI to avoid conversion losses. Developers must therefore familiarize themselves with the details of the control system for every new sensor, which differs slightly from sensor to sensor.
To perform initial qualification tests or proof-of-principle measurements quickly, an affordable USB StarterKit is available for almost all AMS sensors. It not only allows for pressure measurements within minutes, but logs measurement series on a PC. Additionally the I²C addresses of the sensors can be changed, in case several sensors have to be operated on one I²C bus.
The AMS 5935 is the icing on the cake: highly precise even at the smallest differential and relative pressures down to the range of +/- 125 Pascal, while at the same time predestined for mobile power applications in the range of 1.7 V to 3.6 V due to its low power consumption of only 250 nA in sleep mode. AMSYS offers the AMS 5935 for differential, relative, absolute and bidirectional pressures up to 2 bar.
A Total Error Band (TEB) of only 0.25% over the entire temperature range of -25 .. 85°C paired with the effective 18-bit output enables low-noise pressure and temperature measurements with these individually calibrated pressure sensors. To minimize thermal influences, the piezoresistive silicon pressure measuring cell is built onto a ceramic DIL housing for PCB mounting with a state-of-the-art signal processing ASIC.
This board-mount sensor is available in two housing variants: either with classic vertical hose connections or in a space-saving valve block variant for mounting with O-rings. Customer-specific adaptations are of course possible. In addition to the USB StarterKit, the consulting team at AMSYS also supports you in quickly integrating the sensor in your project.
