AMS 6832 analog/digital low pressure sensor

With a footprint of only 7.6 x 7.2 mm², the AMS 6832 sensors housed in a DIL-6 package are the smallest differential pressure sensors on a robust ceramic substrate. At the same time, they offer a 24-bit I²C as well as an ratiometric analog output for pressure values. Temperature is provided as a 13-bit value. The compact pressure sensors are designed for precise pressure measurements in confined spaces and are now available in an extended pressure range from 125 Pa up to 2 bar. With this sensor, AMSYS offers a pressure sensor that combines highest analog measurement accuracy with a compact package.

These pressure sensors are extensively calibrated and compensated. They are characterized by extremely low measurement errors at room temperature as well as a very low total error in the compensated temperature range from -25 to 85 °C of only 0.5 .. 2 %FS, depending on the pressure range. To simplify initial operation and first tests, the AMS 6832 USB Starter Kit is available. It enables direct measurement data acquisition via a Windows PC as well as configuration of the sensor’s I²C address.

Ultra-low pressure differential / relative: 0 .. 250; 0 .. 500, 0 .. 1000 and 0 .. 1250 Pa;
Ultra-low pressure bidirectional differential: ±125; ±250; ±500, ±1000 and ±1250 Pa
Low pressure differential / relative: 0 .. 20, 0 .. 35, 0 .. 50 and 0 .. 100 mbar
Low pressure bidirectional differential: ±20, ±35, ±50 and ±100 mbar
Standard pressure ranges, differential / relative: 0 .. 200, 0 .. 350, 0 .. 500, 0 .. 1000 and 0 .. 2000 mbar
Standard pressure ranges, bidirectional differential: ±200, ±350, ±500 and ±1000 mbar
Absolute pressure ranges: 0 .. 500, 0 .. 1000, 0 .. 1500 and 0 .. 2000 mbar
Barometric absolute pressure range: 700 .. 1200 mbar

For applications with different requirements regarding interface, package or pressure range, the digital AMS 6915 with I²C output and the analog AMS 6916 in a DIP-8 package are available as complementary sensor series.

Compared with the analog/digital AMS 5812 — which is ideally suited for medical applications featuring a ceramic cap and stainless-steel pressure ports—the AMS 6832 offers a space-saving alternative with a modern ASIC in a plastic housing.

Note: The AMS 6832 can be custom calibrated regarding the pressure range as well as for lower supply voltages. Special designs, such as different pressure connections, are also available upon request.
